Swing Check Valve Flo-Control

Check valves are one-way valves that prevent water from reversing. Swing check valves have a flap on a hinge that remains open when water follows the inflowing direction, and falls shut when this forward pressure is removed. This prevents backflow. In the event of a power outage, check valves prevent water from spilling out of the pond and flooding your yard (and potentially beaching fish, depending on the amount of drainage). They also contain water in the bio-filter, keeping beneficial bacteria alive.

It is important to disconnect check valves during winter months to prevent water from freezing in your water feature's plumbing.

Valves are piped in-line to ensure the flow direction in water and gas applications to prevent backflow in a piping system.
